GMC Paul's ...Issues Resolved

Has anyone else been not real happy with GMC Pauls service? I ordered some parts from them. They were shipped from 2 different locations and I paid shipping from both. I wasn't expecting that. I wasn't notified or asked if I would want the items if I was going to have to pay 2 shipping charges. Truth is: the items shipped from 2nd location were added just because I was ordering items already. Had I known I was going to pay shipping on added on items I would have order them later, when it came closer to time when I needed them. I'm not real upset about it. I e-mailed them with my question/frustration and wasn't even replied to. I'm just wondering if this is normally how they do business or If it's just me. I'm just starting my restoration and due to pricing, was planning on buying more from them. But now I may just look elsewhere.

Or should I just get over it?

UPDATE... I have recieved a return email from Paul. Very nice guy. I sounds like I missed a drop down box in thr freight charges area. (I retyped my order into the website to see where it was, I DID MISS IT) They do have this problem from time to time. They are looking for an upgrades of software to correct these oversights. Also if you are a new customer, which I was, a return email may not yet be set up in the automatic reply section if something changes on your billing nor is it set up to go into thier inbox, until Paul set's it up. (he was at Carilsle at the time) I will definately use them in the future. I hope I didn't turn anyone away from future purchases from them. And if your unhappy with past experiences with GMC Paul's, I encourage you to give them another try.

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I have been very happy with them .I probably spent over $3000 with them and they really bent over backwards for me. Maybe they aren't around because of the holiday .Try calling them, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. Chris

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I haven't had any problems with any of the Venders, and I'm pretty sure I've dealt with them all over the years. Lots of restorations, give them another chance, voice your concern and always ask lots of questions when your ordering parts.
The restore process is hard enough, you shouldn't have problems with vendors as well. I've bought from him before and he seems like a stand up guy. Give him another call as these guys get really busy at times and you may have slipped through the cracks, so to speak

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I haven't had any problems and have ordered quite a bit from them. Call and talk to them, I have found both Les and Paul easy to work with.

Not defending the situation, but I have never seen Paul or Les just ignore people. They have always gone out of their way to ensure a customer is satisfied. Sorry you had a bad time.. but I am sure they will read this and talk with you about it as well.

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

just purchased some parts that were shipped from 2 seperate locations too ... once the invoice came, the total was higher than what I had been told when placing the order.

I suppose it happens, but it would have been nice to have the TOTAL before placing the order. Afterall, TOTAL means total cost? right?

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I met him at Carlisle..really nice and helpful guy. My buddy bought a hood and Paul insisted on inspecting it before he helped load it in the truck, just to be sure that my buddy was getting a perfect product. Seems like a sincere and helpful vendor to me.

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I met Paul at Carlisle and he was very good to work with. I bought several pieces from him and I was very satisfied. Give him another try, and if he doesn't respond to your satisfaction, you can move on knowing that you tried to work with him and he didn't give the proper effort.

Take care,
Bob

I ordered quite a bit during my trucks rebuild. Always quick with getting the order shipped and in responding to questions. I would not hesitate ordering from them again...

Paul and Les are real nice guys to deal with and have great customer service. I sent a PM a few days ago and have not heard back yet but I'm not alarmed. They probably took an extended holiday weekend.

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I ordered the clear marker light kit from them and a month after I installed them, I noticed the chrome around one of them fell off somewhere. I sent them an email and the put a full light in a box and sent it Priority (said they didn't have the chrome seperate, so they sent a whole light).

That was enough for me to give them first shot at all my parts. I sent them an email at lunch today and had a response in less than an hour. I don't think I've ever waited more than a day for a response via email (better than most I would think).

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I met Paul at Carlisle last year and I bought a ton of sheetmetal off of him. I didn't have a problem and he was very helpful.

Unfortunately we are all human and are not perfect. I'm sure that it is just a misunderstanding that will hopefully be fixed.

I've ordered from them, and had no problems. If you need to clear this up, call the order line during business hours and talk to someone.

Not to be picky, but doesn't this thread belong somewhere else?

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

in my bussiness i can buy some of the same parts directly from the manufactours as GMC Pauls. but i cant beat his prices. so with his margins being so small he has to pass on frieght cost. in saying that i have e-mailed GMC Pauls several times asking questions about my build. they have always responded and given me good advice. thanks pkj

UPS lost my order. Les answered all of my emails within an hour or two and had a new shipment the next day.

Re: GMC Paul's ... Anyone else not pleased with?

I had a very similar experience. I ordered dropped spindles and a flip kit for my crew cab shortbed 3/4 ton truck project through him. I had additional S&H charges tacked on after I paid online with my credit card for what was explained to me as additional shipping for the flip kit since it came from a different supplier. I was told this was "actual charge" no hidden fees. Well, it was shipped to me in a flat rate us mail box for $7.85 after I was charged an additional $18 to ship it. Secondly, the spindles were advertised as "1973-87 3/4 ton pickup 3" drop spindles, these use all your original equipment ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. These spindles are Made on State of The Art CNC machines in the USA. All spindle pins are made of 4140 Chromoly steel and machined on CNC turning machines for the ultimate in precision tooling. Lifetime warranty to original purchaser." Well, they get to my door in a Chassistech box full of AIM brochures. I would never ever knowlingly purchase any product made or sold by AIM industries. So, I felt this was a bit misleading, had it been advertised as chassistech spindles I'd have shopped elsewhere or got it direct from them at almost half the cost. In the end the flip kit was the wrong size and I got a partial refund. Not a good experience by any means but could have been worse. Good luck finding what you need.

With most any business, phone calls work best.
It is also a good idea to discuss the situation with them and give them a chance to help you out before slamming them on a public forum
