Re: cab on blazer frame

I saw one YEARS ago running around jamestown NY but I never took any pics of it. It looked kind of odd, the bed was really small, almost like the bed on a midsize truck crew cab. This was back in the early 90s, maybe the guy was an innovator?

Re: cab on blazer frame

I built one once. I put a '67 cab on a '71 blazer frame. I only have one picture of it and it is not digital and I don't own a scanner. I built it more out of necessity more than anything else-I had all these parts laying around and together there was just enough for a shorty. I went with a step side bed, and the rear fenders stopped about 2 inches from the back of the cab. I drove it for many years, but the wife wrecked it finally. I'll try to get that one picture scanned and post it. I want to do another one now that I know a little more and can do it right. I made a few mistakes the first time. It always got a lot of comments, though.

Re: cab on blazer frame

This is a really poor picture-I took a picture of the picture I have. You can kinda get the idea. It was a rust bucket for the most part. I was making progress toward a coat of paint when it met it's demise. This was taken at the 1987 Summit County fair demolition derby. Those 2 kids are mine. They were 3 and 6 then, they just turned 22 and 25 last month. Funny how time slips away. I am the one in the light blue shirt 2nd adult from the right. The blonde in the yellow shirt is Ms. P. The rest are some of my closest friends.

Re: cab on blazer frame

There is one that pops up on Evil Bay from time to time, he has been
trying to sell it for like 2 years, he put a cab on there, shortened the
bed, & made it look like a short, short swb, kinda looks freaky, JMHO

Re: cab on blazer frame

There was one in the parking lot of the Nats in Maggie Valley this past year. I thought I had made a shot of it......but I can't find it. Trucks on Blazer frames seem to turn up pretty regular around here (the quality seems to vary quite a bit too).

Re: cab on blazer frame

a member from knoxville had one for sale on here. A blue one with a fleet bed he bought off of E-Bay. It looked pretty good as far as dimensions go but wasn't done well. Lots of bondo and poor alignment of body parts

Yes, but-I found that the rear cab mounts lined up perfect on the Blazer frame, but over the years the mounts on the frame started to sag a little. They are just kinda flat, if I did it again I would reinforce those mounts somehow.
