Re: Gage cluster
Looks cool. I intend upgrading my '71 GMC along similar lines. I have the gauges, [Auto Meter], tach, ammeter, water temp, vacuum and oil pressure. I want to add a hand throttle under the choke knob and so I'll have to move the wiper switch over to the left, above the light switch. [Back dating to '68 standard]. I guess the big issue is wiring, since the vinyl printed circuit can't reach the mechanical gauges.

Re: Gage cluster
I was thinking about doing this too, but whay not just go with a factory tach? Is the problem accuracy? Something else?

Re: Gage cluster
the factory tachs weren't stock when they were new 35 years ago... they only rev to 5000, they have no red line pointer... they are pretty lame in all reality. Same for the lower guages. A set of $40 sunpro guages (made by snap on BTW) is more acurate than the stock guages ever were.
