hello to all

Hello all im new to the forum and new to the truck. I just picked up a very nice 72 lwb. The truck has 95K miles on it has had the drivers side cab support replaced and maybe cab corner if so they did a great job. Other than that, paint, wheels and tires the truck is basically original still has the am radio. I believe it has the stock 350 and 3 on the tree it has long tube headers on it and an edelbrock intake, but stock q-jet carb with adaptor plate. I want to replace the stock carb with an edelbrock due to the choke not working right and the secondary has a bad stumble in it. What size carb should i go with 600 or 650? i dont want to over carb the motor the truck will be driven almost daily as well.

Re: hello to all

ob '72, welcome, I'm a new poster also, hey, you know you can take that old q-jet to Auto Zone, Advanced, or O'Rielly and it's good for about a $50 core charge. The new Q-jet will cost you 'bout $100, probably be alot happier with it than the Edelbrock also.

Re: hello to all

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! 650cfm is about right for a mostly stock motor (from what I've been told here)

I used an RV cam, Edelbrock Preformer intake and a Road Demon Jr. 625 cfm Carb on one of mine and I'm happy.....
