I'm making my own from stainless steel, not ready yet though, but than I came across this item on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1821371710

Were these available back then?

It looks like one for a camaro to me. My '69 doesn't have anything that looks like that nor have I seen one on any '67-'72 I believe '73 and up have one like that.

I bought one of those from that same person back about a year ago. Haven't had the chance to install it yet, but I did compare it to a stock mount. Looks like it is made for the Heavy Duty radiator (4 core). It also appears that the upper rubber mounts will need to be glued/cemented to the bottom of this, as opposed to using the original "hold downs."

I bought one from him. I had to drill new holes is all, but it looks really good on there.

Actually, I think this peice was made orginally for the Chevelle/Malibu's. Or at least thats what the decal said on it when I got it.

It is identical to a Chevelle piece. Its not made for our trucks at all. I think somebody made it fit once and decided they could sell it for out trucks. You do have to glue the rubber mounts onto the bottom of the chrome. Takes a little work to make it fit.

you know I do beleive brothers or chevy duty has one of those now. I can't recall which one it is.. it may even be LMC truck, but they make a smooth cover for our trucks, looks good.. stainless and paintable. I'm definatley gonna get one, that little valley on the radiator gets stuff in it and it would look bad in shows/pictures

btw sweet truck 72chevyLWB the painted grille looks great
