New from Texarkana, TX
Hey all. Name's Aaron. Live in Texarkana, TX, soon to be Atlanta, TX hopefully. Have a '78 Custom Deluxe C10 with a 250 I6 and a turbo 350 behind it (replaced the original manual from what I understand). Bought it from Texarkana Community College recently. Had an unattractive and HEAVY utility bed on it but I did away with that. Going to build a wooden flatbed out of some solid core doors from the college. Maybe but it'll look slick when I'm done. Going to find a 250 core and do a ground up rebuild with as much performance parts as I can and figure out some fuel injection scheme (any ideas?) for even better gas mileage and power on top of replacing the turbo 350 with a 700R for that 4th overdrive gear. I will also be putting some air suspension in like CoolRide and AIRoverLeaf for a smoother ride and more controllable towing and hauling. Other than that I guess it's just body work and paint and maybe a stereo system. Oh, and that raggedy ass cracked-up dash. They didn't care too much about that truck's looks I guess, but I couldn't beat $200 for a '78 Chev with only 71K on the original engine, which was taken care of well. Any suggestions or comments on the above stuff would be appreciated.
