my 67 shifter is different than other 67's I've had whats the deal ?
my 67 pickup is 3 speed om column but it has the 68 to 72 style shifter and it has a syncronized trannsmission , on all the other 67's I ever had they had a three speed on column shifter like came in the 63 to 66 trucks it's a different looking shifter and shifts better without ever hanging up , the 68 to 72 style is more prone to hanging up , I wonder if my truck is a late build or if it's been changed ?? it sure looks original ??

What's the last 6 of your VIN, that'll tell you if it is an early truck or not.
Synchros in the tranny sugests a newer tranny though. |

Re: my 67 shifter is different than other 67's I've had whats the deal ?
My 67 was built in april of 67 and had the itty bitty punkin 3 spd that I believe was not syncronized. I did however have the same shifter that I have seen in all other 67-72's auto or manual on the column. I changed it out to the newer 3 spd and put the shifter in the floor. Them little trannies can't handle 350 horses when you excercise them alot. I switched to a auto when I rebuilt the truck cause I got tired of stabbin a tranny in it every couple months. Got where I could lay flat on my back and shovem in and bolt em up in less than a hour and be back on the road. LOL
