i was wondering if anybody could tell me the cc's of head number 8978487X, and also if anyone can give the links to sites for the block numbers and head numbers, Thanks in Advance

I don't know it right off hand but if you type in a search engine "Big Block Chevrolet Vin Numbers" it will get you around what you are looking for.

It's a 76cc head with runner size and flow numbers compareable to a vortec head. Came out originally on 71-72 Camaro LT1. An excellent choice for a budget build.
