suspension help
had my trucked jacked up at the garage today having new tyres, and it looks like i could do with some new rear suspension parts, i have a 69 chevy stepside, couldyou folks please post any suspension pics you have please,

i think someone has messed about with the rear suspension on my truck and its not looking good, pics would be great so i can see what its meant to look like, plus could you tell me what rating in LBs the rear springs (coils) are please ps the front springs have alos been lowered and it is riding on the bump stops all the time, any help on this too please

could i do away with the spring and have coilovers? ps could i also do the same ont he front as the springs look like they have been cut and are riding on the bump stops? anyone got any surgestions to the rating in lbs i should use? i see in one thread that he has 200lb coilovers on the rear

coil overs are not a good idea, the shock mounts aren't designed to support the weight of the truck.
I've seen plenty of shock mounts broken, with just shocks alone. |

my rear springs at the moment dont appear to have any top mounts, when it was jacked up the springs where just swinging about

Why not just get new spring mounts, springs, and shocks. Much easier and safer.

Are the mounts rusted away???? Here are pics of mine before and after I had to replace some pieces. From what I have seen these rust out in this spot.

I think www.gmcpauls.com has a kit for it. Top and/or bottom. Also in chrome if I remember right.

spock to the garage that do my work for me and they are going to custom make me some mounts so that i can have coilovers but instaed of just one coilover on each corner there will be two.. 8 in total on the truck
