my progress
its been a long 9 months... I have learned it might be quicker to do it yourself, even if you dont know jack! anyway, its almost done... just needs the glass put in and interior redone.

Re: my progress
Very nice! Truck looks sharp like that, although glass will definitely help with the finishing touches.

Re: my progress
That looks great. Im painting mine all white with blue flames. Im going with dark blue on the inside for the seats and light blue for the dash and inside the cab.

Damn, I just wiped the drool off of my face. When I said damn, the little woman was wondering what I was looking at so I moved over so she could see the computer screen and said, oh men.

Re: my progress
heres a few pics of the transformation.... it started as a POS 70, I replaced the front clip with the 67... as you can see, I had to move so I could pay for the "money pit"!!!!!

Re: my progress
thanks for the responses... the wheels are 18/8 and 20/10 TTII's on a 4/6 ECE drop... it still needs to come down a little in the back and a lot more in the front!

Re: my progress
Gorgeous truck! That is what I would like to do to mine. I think a white interior would top it off. White is not the most user friendly, but I guess it depends how much you are going to use it (or if you have kids.. ). Again, nice truck!

Re: my progress
RedneckDDS, great looking truck. Exactly the look and wheel setup I am working on, but air ride too.
Question; did you shorten the rear end at all to fit those 10" wide, small backspace TTIIs? The reason I ask is because the other truck pictured in this thread has a Camaro rearend under it, the owner informed me, which is less wide and made the very small backspace wheels possible to still fit them under the bed. I intend to install the widest lip possible TTIIs also so I converted my 71 to a 58" wide 9" Ford rearend, that will allow me to run the 20x10 wheels with only 3" of backspacking. Pictures of chassis etc. located here http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/sh...p?ppuser=30718 I am just trying to get a feel for how much lip the 20x10 with 3" backspacing will actually have, since I have yet to actually go buy them. Cheers! Last edited by BigSky71; 11-15-2006 at 06:58 PM. Reason: ..duh... |

Re: my progress
I told Kieth I would post up some pics of the air suspension installation we did. The front is bagged with Strong Arms and ECE drop spindles. The rear has a custom c-notch and bags, with an ECE trac-bar. Air Ride Technologies also supplied the air suspension components... valves, compressors, and LevelPro set-up.
