one of my co-workers told me about a 1/2 ton 68 longbed fleetside sitting at another repair shop here in town. seems the owner of the truck couldn't pay the repair bill and the shop owner wanted it gone. i stopped by after work today to check it out but it had already been towed to the wrecking yard. he said he would have given the truck to me if i had been there earlier

. now i'll have to buy the stuff i want --if there is any. i plan to go check it out tomorrow morning at the wrecking yard.

Man that sux...Well hopefully you can salvage some good parts from it.

getting ready to head out there as soon as i drop the kids at school.hopefully there will be some good stuff left--i know the grille is already gone.

just got home from the wrecking yard. it's not a 68, it's a 69 or 70, bare bones, nothing truck. 6 cyl, 3 speed, but it does have some useable sheetmetal--both doors, left front fender, hood, bed is no prize. they also have a bed off a 72 longbed fleetside with a tailgate and a right door from a 69 or 70 CST. if anyone is interested, call Dave or Steve at (925)679-8998
