99 & up pass side dash noise??

Here's an other little beauty. For the past 2 years, my 2000 Silverado would have this annoying tapping noise on the passengers side dash. Almost sounds like a pencil fell into the defroster vent. Only happens when you get up over 50 and not all that noticeable if sitting in the pass seat but very noticeable if in the drivers seat. Finally found out what was happening. Apparently the wind would hit the windshield and make the vertical weatherstip bounce on the glass. When it pushed back on the weatherstip to see if it was open between it and the glasss, there is pretty big gap there like maybe there should be some sealer pumped into the opening?? I wound up just using a piece of electrical tape from the top of the windshield to the bottom on the pass side---spanning from the weatherstip to the glass. Bingo--no more noise!! I do have a plastic protector mounted to the leading edge of the hood and perhaps that changes the air flow ---and the antenna is mounted on the pass side so perhaps the combination of the tow create a different wind pattern---?? Don't know but a .10 piece of tape eliminated the problem!! If you have the noise--give it a shot~~~Huck
