Stance Questions?
im going to be lowering my truck pretty soon. its a long bed and im for somewhat of a rake with the front being a little lower than the rear. my thoughts were to lower it 3 1/2 in front(spindles and 1 inch springs) and 3 inches in the rear with springs. will this put the rear up way to high? should i go a little lower in the back. will also be swapping out the tires for around a 285/65/16 in rear and 265/60/16 in front. thanks for the input.

Re: Stance Questions?
Great looking truck!
With the tire sizes you have indicated, the rear tire is nearly 2" taller than the front tire. (I built a quick excel tire calculator, and your fronts are somewhere in the 28.5" tall range, and your rears are in the 30.5" tall range) My truck, with a 3.5" front drop, and a 5" rear drop on 235-60/15 front and 275-60/15 rears, has nearly the same height difference (26.1" front, 28" rear), and the gap from the top of tire to the bottom of fender is pretty even from front to rear. Bottom line is, I think you will have quite a bit of rake with only a 3" drop in the rear. I would suggest either more in the rear, or less in the front, or put air bags in the rear, then you can vary the drop to suit your needs.

Quote:
Your rake is gonna be pretty steep with the combo you plan on running. C-10s generally came from the factory with 2 inches difference in front and rear height. In effect, your package will have the rear about 2.5 inches higher in the rear. Then add another inch, considering that your rear tire is approx. 2 in taller than the front, making it 3.5 inches rake. Here is a side pic of my truck to show the rake I have. It's lowered 4.5inches in front and 5inches in the rear. The tires are 255/45-20 front and 295/45-20 rear. In effect I have 2 to 2.5 inches rake. Hope this helps. BTW.....my compliment echoes the others when I say your truck is super sweet just the way it is. Jesse

Re: Stance Questions?
I just helped member 71see10 drop this one 2.5" front and 5" out back. It still has a rake but it is very mild.
My truck is dropped 3.5" front and 6" rear. Still only a very small amount of rake. I'm guessing you are going to want more than 3" of drop on the tail end of that one. |
