Well I got all my brake parts and my haynes book I think I am going to tackle my wheel cylinder replacement. Have never fooled with drums. Is there a trick to removing the cyclinder or do I have to take that shoes out? The book seems pretty straight forward. But any tips or secrets would help.
Also is there any difference with bleeding the rear drums? I have bleed front disks several times.

You'll have to take it all apart to get the cylinders out. They are pretty straight forward. You might want to take a digital pic of your brake shoes before you disassemble. I lay pieces down on the ground paying attention to right and left. Do one wheel at a time. That way if you want, you can check the side that is still assembled. If you have trouble getting the drum off, adjust the star wheel by holding the click plate up with one screw driver, and turning the wheel with another. depending on your wear, you may have a lip on your drum that keeps it from clearing your shoes.

Bleeding is the same. Adjust the star wheel till you hear the shoes rub on the drum, then back off two clicks. Start with bleeding the pass. side rear, then do the driver's side.

Bascking up and braking a couple of times will self adjust the final brake shoe clearance.I have a cheapie bleeder set-up that is a lidded plastic cup with a hose.The hose fits over the bleeder with a little fluid in the cup and allows you to bleed the brakes by yourself.Since my wife doesn't do much mechanic work and I don't have the patience to teach her to bleed brakes........
