Couple of new questions for all my favorite helpers.
1st off thanks again you guys for all the help. Hope you all took a look at the pics that i posted. So you have some idea of what you are helping me with.
Now on to the questions. 1. Why when i get on the highway or interstate and go to get up to highway speed does it spit and spudder. When i reach 70 it doesn't do it. But if i am cruizing along at 70 and hit the gas it does the spit and spudder thing again till i let off. 2. What gears would give me a best acceleration and which would help improve my gas mileage.(Or do those go hand in hand.) 3. What do i need to do in terms of showing those mustang kids up. When i comes to lighting them tires up at a stop light? 4. What seat gives you the best big man fit when trying to keep it to where three can ride in the truck. Thats what i have for now thanks again for all that answer back.

Re: Couple of new questions for all my favorite helpers.
Answer to question no.2 is that they don't usually go hand in hand. For hiway speed driving a taller gear (lower number like 3.07 gears) is better. For acceleration a lower gear (higher number like 4.10 gears) is better. The lower gear also helps with "lighting the tires up".

#1. is the motor stock? - what is it? #2. do you just want a "Red light racer" or do you want some "cruisability" too? (i.e. a set of 4:10 gears will get you off the line a lot quicker - but will hurt highway performance and gas milage) to see what gears you have you can see if you rear end has a little tag on 1 of the cover bolts - and get the numbers off of that - you'd be lucky if it is still there. you could pull the cover and count the teeth on the gears or you could make a mark on a spot of the "Yoke" (where the driveshaft attaches to the rear end). them make a mark as close to the center of the axle as posible (but it is still able to "Make a circle" when you turn it. them count how many times the yoke has to turn to get the axle to turn 1ce. (so a 3.07 gear would be just over 3 turns of the yoke to 1 turn of the wheel -etc) NOTE this method isn't entirely accurate but will get you a close guestimate As far as the seat thing goes - i'm under the firm belief that the stock bench seat fits best and is actually very comfortable (provided that the foam padding is in good shape)

I'm 6'1 and I use the stock seat. It's comfy for me. I've got a smaller than stock steering wheel which I think makes a difference. Only thing i'd ask for is a touch more legroom

Bench seat from 88-94 Chevy truck is great. Very comfortable and supportive. To me it's much better than the stock ones.
