Glovebox and ashtray light factory options?

Can anyone tell me if a glovebox and ashtray light were original equipment options on a 71' Super cheyenne? My fuse box has outlets marked for them, and I have seen the glovebox light for sale before, so I was wondering. I can't find any wiring existence for them in my truck, but didn't know if some former owner might have taken them out at some point. Does anyone have them in their truck as stock options or can advise if they were supposed to be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. John

neither was ever a RPO on the 67 - 72 truck line. However, the glove box light was a dealer installed accesory.

Re: Glovebox and ashtray light factory options?

when I got my 67 K10 there was stock looking wiring from the fuse panel to both cig lighter and glove box light, one red and one green. Kinda heavy gauge, 10-12ish. Still have it too, want to reinstall someday.

Re: Glovebox and ashtray light factory options?

The deluxe lighter had a bonded pair of wires - red & green - red for the lighter and green for the light. The 73+ trucks had a fiber optic to the ash tray itself. The glove box light uses an orange wire - look at 73+ trucks or yr?? GM cars. Longhorn Man use to sell the glove box lamps at one time. Don't know if he has any more at this time.
