Power Steering problem

I just finished my new motor a couple weeks ago. And I have power steering on my truck. But it is not working very well, and every once in a while fluid will shoot out of the cap of the pump! And I did NOT overfill it, and the belt is not loose or worn, I double checked. Just seeing if you guys think its the pump or maybe the gearbox is even bad too, thanks

Sometimes on a new pump or an old one that has been drained and refilled, they can develop air pockets in the pump and or lines, that could cause some of that problem. I would run the steering through its motions for a while and make sure that this is not the case before I looked any farther.

I had to "Burp" my new PS system after installing. It's best to do it at a idle while turning the wheel back & forth from stop to stop.

I did that mulitple times, I jacked up the front of the truck and turn the wheel back and forth a few times. But it still isnt working, but it was before I put my new motor in, thats what is weird.
