Anybody near Marysville Kansas???

I think that is the name of the town. I'm gonna be heading that way to get a new Landoll trailer for work. Not sure how much time I'm gonna have, but would like to check out some local yards and find parts for my 62 burban. Anything has to be better than whats on it and in yards up here. I think I'm going in the next 2 weeks, still not 100% sure. Anybody??

Re: Anybody near Marysville Kansas???

Dang, man, you are making a long road trip! First thing I'd like to say is, if you are coming down I-29 and then going across Hwy 36 to Marysville, watch out for the cops in Wathena, Ks. It's a little town about 4 miles into Kansas after you cross the Missouri river. They get their jollies pulling everyone over for speeding, unlit licence plates or whatever they can get you for.

A friend of mine works at Landoll, in the forklift division. I originally came from Beatrice, Ne. about 35 miles north of there. About 20 miles or so north of Marysville is Wymore Ne.- where you will find Watt's Salvage. That yard is probably 40+ acres of cars & trucks. He doesn't crush much of the older stuff untill there is nothing left. Alot of old trucks too. Some is picked over pretty good, & alot of them are typical midwest rustbuckets. But you might be surprised what you may find if you have the time to look around for the better part of a day. IF he will let you browse. I never had any problem, but I've known him for 20+ years. I've heard he has become a little tough on new guys- doesn't like to just let them roam. I'm almost certain there has to be some old Burbs in there. If you approach him with what you are looking for, I bet he will be more likely to let you roam if he thinks he has it. He doesn't mind charging you what HE thinks it is worth though- so I would advise to find what you want, ask how much & then pull it. If you pull it first, he knows there is little chance you will leave it laying there when he tells you his price.

If you want, I'll get you a # & directions- he's a little off the beaten path.

Re: Anybody near Marysville Kansas???

When I find out more, I'll drop you a PM. It would be nice to find some fenders, inners, driver door for 60-63, and the real only burb parts that I need are for the window metal trim on the side windows. Hopefully I'll remember to bring some tools with me!!! Its a 1300 mile trip one way, and fed. law mandates 11 hours total on duty. I think that's how it goes, don't have to run a log anymore. But if that is the case, I *should* have time, but won't know till I get there.
