Post Urgent... How to remove entire dash assembly?

Since my truck was vandalized and the assembly was banged up, how difficult is it to replace the entire thing.... I noticed that the steering wheel and stuff have to be droppped. And ther are 3 bolts on each side in the corners.... what else is holding it in place? the speaker bracket etc or what

Ok. The "proper" way to remove it would be to remove the windsheild, drill the spotwelds out, hack, beat, cuss, throw stuff. And hope it comes out.
Now to reality. I just removed a complete dash assy. to put it into my 70 panel. Which was hacked to hell. I took all the side bolts out. Took the dashpad off, used a sawzall to cut the dash under where the pad is. It gets a little tricky near the corners. But i used a sharpened putty knife as a chisel at the corners. It worked out ok. You can put it in, match up the cut lines, tach weld it back. You will need to do a little bodywork at the corners. But it aint too bad. A little work at the top corners will not be near as hard to make look good as work in the center of the dash.
A plazma cutter would work good also if you have one.

Although I've personally never removed one, the spot welds all the way across the lower windshield/dash lip have to be drilled out before it can be removed from what I can tell on the stripped cab in my driveway.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Depending on how bad the damage was you might try stripping all the gages bezels and trim from it and having a body man work out the damage. It might save you a lot of frustration.

The cool thing about fine69's way, id the dash pad will cover all traces of the work being done. Many have done it this way.

Kind of makes you wonder what the hell the people that made these trucks were thinking when they decided to WELD in the dashes!! On my little piece of crap car, I can take the complete dash out in no time! (and NO not with a BFH!!)
