Recent Progress
Have not posted here before but have visited off and on. Now that I have my project running I thought someone may want to see some recent progress pics of the 54 my son and I have been working for the past 4 years. Getting closer.

Re: Recent Progress
Looking good...I wish I was far enough along to go for a drive...maybe this summer we can at least fire it off.
I am guessing you are from Houston? Bernie |

Re: Recent Progress
Looks good and that paint on the interior is going to look spectacular all over. I admire all of your hard work. i also have a 54 that I am in the planning stages right now, so I am looking and daydreaming at all the beautiful trucks I can. What type of front end or IFS did you use? i envy you but best you the best from here in Memphis.

I think I'm going to put mine on a trailer and have my son drag me aorund the block like I used to do with him in a wagon. At least that way I can say I went for a ride in it. |

Re: Recent Progress
PGF - I am out in the Klein area in the NW part of the county. League City is a pretty fer trot from here but anywhere is Houston is a fer trot from anywhere else.
54Chevy - I subframed the truck using a G-body front end from a 82 Grand Prix. It was pretty fab intensive but the track width is perfect for this truck. The camaro subframe is too wide for these. If I were to do another I would use an IFS kit. There are other pics of this modification in some of the other albums on my PT page. Solid - the tank is from a first gen camaro. It holds 18 gallons. It works fine but there are other options such as a blazer tank that has more capacity. There are lots of nice projects going on this page. Glad I stopped by. |

Re: Recent Progress
Thought I would share the results of another productive weekend on the 54 project.
This includes pics of the bed wood installation and clean up of a 454 mystery motor I picked up with a new project truck. Forgot the link, duh http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...38&uid=2902753 Last edited by Houston54; 02-19-2007 at 01:24 PM. |
