Talking 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

Looking for 1750 OBO.

Just park, pop the top, & you're all set.

THE BLAZER IS NOT FOR SALE!! THIS AD IS JUST FOR THE CAMPER TOP!

I believe also that this would work on a 77-91 blazer as well, (one with a half cab), because the cab top just bolts to the bulkhead behind the front seats. As long as the bedrail length & bed depth @ the tailgate is the same I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I can't guarantee that it will.

Extremely Rare 4WD Camper pop-up top for first generation (69-72), Blazers/Jimmys. I've had this top for about 6 years & it is in decent shape, but needs a little work. It is complete however & includes the sofa along the passenger bedside, 10 gallon water storage tank, 30 lb? propane tank, (I think it's full), propane fired heater, sink, electric stove, insulated icebox, & tons of storage. It will sleep four comfortably, when the top is up, the overhead is a queen sized bed, & the sofa converts to a full. It is perfect for camping with a small family, or to be used as a portable hunting camp.

The price is OBO, if you have any questions, please let me know, also willing to trade. I am looking for parts &/or tools to fix this blazer up, so give me your offers!!

Check the link in my signature for some pictures.

Thanks for looking!
Buddy

That would be cool if the blazer came with it!

Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

I don't know if the blazer would make it to MO. Definitely not at this point, maybe I should get my butt in gear to try & make it.

I will say that if somebody that's going to the board meet REALLY wants it & can pay me beforehand, ('cause I'd use the money to get the blazer driveable again), I'd move heaven & earth to get there.

It would be awesome to go & meet some of you guys & girls, but it's a long way from me, & the blazer needs at least a little work to be driveable. Maybe this would be the kick in the pants I'd need to get it moving again.

Later,
Buddy

Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

Think it would fit a modern 6ft bed truck?

Any interior pics?

Talking Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

I'll measure it up.

Just so you know, it has an open bulkhead to the cab, so you can just step through from the front seats. It's made out of treated plywood, so you would be able to close it up real easy.

I am interested in a hard top, so if you have one to swap that's in pretty good shape w/ a good hatch + some cash I might be willing to work with you. Actually, there are a few things I'd be willing to consider for trade - TBI setup, doubler, nv4500, (right), crossover steering, D60 & 14-bolt, etc., etc.

Show me what you got.

Plus, I'd just lilke to meet you anyways. I've always liked you on the boards I frequent, I figure you'd be a nice guy to hang out with. My local club is planning a trip out to Paragon sometime this summer, maybe we could hook up there.

Later,
Buddy

Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

OK, just went to get dimensions; as follows -

Tailgate - 20 1/2"

Cab bulkhead - 24 3/4"

Bedrail length - 70 1/2"

Here are some crappy interior pictures. I know, I know it needs to be cleaned out. Currently, it's being used as a front yard shed, so forgive me.

1) Driver's side interior

2) From front looking back

3) Passenger's side interior

4) From back looking forward

Let me know,
Buddy

Does the top/bulk-head part come with the camper?

I have a top but need to double check the hatch.
No TBI but I do have a TPI set up and two serp belt systems also.
No drive train parts I can spare currently though.

Traveling while wheeling is what has me interested in your camper.

We're down in PA early May this year for the first trip, normally try to make it a couple more times during the year too.

Smile Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

Because you have a first-gen, you could have the cab. (I was secretly hoping that somebody with a later model blazer would want it so I could keep the cab section & do something cool with it maybe.)

I'd prefer a single wall top, but beggars can't be chosers, don't care what color. TPI would be OK, I just have an edelbrock intake that I like, but it's not a deal breaker. Already have serp system, just need to put it on among other things.

Just so you know, this thing is a 10 footer. Looks good from 10 feet, but the closer you get the more problems you find. Better than a 20 footer, but not mint at all.

Also, it weighs about 1000 lbs, I'm guessing. Main reason I want to let it go. Really decreases the performance of the truck in mileage, handling & speed. Just want you to have an accurate idea of what you'd be getting. It is perfect to go camping in though, and if you put it on you're blue blazer, it would be a perfect fitment in my mind. Plus, it's just freakin' cool!!

Later,
Buddy

Thanks, I'd like to keep it, but read my reply above & it partially explains why I want to get rid of it.

Thanks for the bump,
Buddy

Re: 72 K5 Blazer 4WD Pop-Up Camper

Buddy,
I sent Kurt a PM to see what his intentions are. I don't want to step on his toes with this. I would like to be first in line depending on what Kurt decides to do. I have a nice white top and a brand new Holley 670 CFM Pro-jection setup that I may be interested in trading. I don't have any of the other 4x4 stuff you asked about, but I DO have TONS of cool stuff to trade, so let's see what Kurt wants to do and we will go from there. I could put that camper to good use on my '72 K/5. Thanks, Mike
