Power window motor upgrade?
Like all of these old trucks, my power windows are about as fast as ketchup on a -40F day. I was wondering if there is a window motor from a newer truck / car that can be used to replace these old, pokey motors? Mine arn't worn out, and I've kept them well oiled, just slow, and very noisy...
Any ideas?

Re: Power window motor upgrade?
Iv'e been kickin' this same idea around for some time now and iv'e looked at quite a few other GM motor designs but the way that they bolt in is much differant than the way our set up is and the motor bodys are usually smaller so theres no way to fab some kind of mount plate to adapt it with out it getting in the way of the gear or the regulator and so on.
But i don't give up easly Mayby i'll expand my search to other Mfg's. Last edited by 87 STEPPER; 01-12-2007 at 06:38 AM. |

Re: Power window motor upgrade?
Yeah, exactly! Its this actual motor design that is the problem. I replaced mine a few years ago expecting some improvement in speed, and sound, but they were about the same as the factory originals.
