Another one bites the dust
Well my 87 GMC has gone to the long road in the sky.
I got in a wreck last night and totalled it pretty good. A girl pulled out infront of me in an 89 Tbird and I T-boned her. I didnt get a chance to get pics of the truck but I will once the ice storm ends.. probably Mon or Tues.. I did get a few pics of her car and will post them when I get them all developed. I am hoping to bring the truck home and sell off the good parts and hopefully salvage the TBI setup and trans... but we will see how much they want me to pay to keep it, if its reasonable and I can make most of it back by selling the parts I will. Getting it home from the yard may pose a few problems. Anybody close by that has a trailer and maybe a truck that wouldnt mind helping...for say a tank of gas?? I am pretty sore, this was my first hard front end collision.. My left arm hurts , and my neck and back.. I will make an appointment with the chiropractor on Monday. I guess I am in the market for my 3rd pickup... would like a 4x4 truck.. but depends on how much I get for the 87 and what I can find. I cant be picky as I need something to get to work with.

Re: Another one bites the dust
Sorry about your truck, man. I always hate to hear it when one of our trucks bites it. At least you're not injured too bad. Good luck with the insurance company.

Hell with the truck, you can find another one. Just make sure you take care of yourself. I torqued my shoulder 15 years ago in a wreck, and it needs care in the form of exercise and such.

Ouch, sorry to hear that mate. Very terrible You should get good money out of her for both medical and for causing the wreck, and "emotional diress" if you're smart I hope everything works out, let us know if we can help.
Good luck with the ice. Its supposed to hit the fan down here Sunday night or Monday morning.

Re: Another one bites the dust
Sorry to hear about that but the most important is that you are doing okay. i too was involved in a t bone on monday. Not in my truck but i was ridding in a buddys car and we had the right of way and the lady pullede out and smack 35 to 0. every one was okay and that is what matters most! Now for the truck. Seems like alot of mebers trucks are having bad experances these days. It is too bad that you lost both your trucks in such a short time period but like i said the truck can be replaced. Good luck with everything and i could definatly see you driving a k10.

Re: Another one bites the dust
Thanks guys.. I am feeling better today. It was alittle over a year ago that I got rear ended and totalled the Maxima.. that is where I got the money for the 87 GMC, which I would have had for almost exactly a year...

Re: Another one bites the dust
Lilbowtie, Yeah thats about right. This is the 7th wreck I have been in since I have been driving (9yrs). ONLY the first one was my fault. This is getting rediculous.
Brandon, HotRod73 has first dibs on parts... IF I can get the truck back to my house. But I will let you know if I have anything left. As far as 4x4 I would prefer a truck.. living out in the country its always good to have a truck around. I need something reliable as this is my daily driver.. but I am not expecting more than $1500 for the truck so I dont have alot to work with. More than likely I will end up with another 2wd because they are usually cheaper than 4x4s.. 84 400, thanks for the links.. I will keep those in mind once I found out for sure how much I am getting.

Re: Another one bites the dust
man I HATE dealing with insurance companies...
They are only trying to give me $1200 for my truck.. granted it wasnt the most beautiful thing in the world but I know its worth more than that.... They are comparing it to the cheapest 5 trucks in the area they could find. They could only find 4 in Oklahoma.. As many of these trucks that are out there and they could only find 4 for sale in Oklahoma? I find that hard to believe. I am going to file a complaint with the insurance commission. Hopefully that will get things going in the right direction...

Re: Another one bites the dust
ahhh man WTF... you pay them soo much so when this kinda thing happens you can get going again and they try to lowball yeah. True it was an 87 GMC but it looked dang good to me! I huess if they did not fight over every penny they would go out of business but man i hate them. I bet your rates are ski high with all those wreacks..... And this was not your Fault ahh well.
Best of luck and i hope you can get a new 73 to 87 or whatever soon

Re: Another one bites the dust
Actually my rates are really low.. atleast I think they are. I think I pay $63 a month for my wifes blazer full coverage. My truck was something like $54, for full coverage.. but I had dropped the 87 to liability because I figured if something was to happen and it was my fault I had the 82 to pull parts from... Its not my insurance I am having problems with... its the girls that pulled out infront of me...
