Stepside bed to fleetside bed - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hiya everybody. Just curious, if I were to put a swb fleetside bed on a truck that was originally a swb stepside bed, do the holes all still line up? I would think so, but what's the harm in asking?

My 67 is in the side yard right now (redneck in an upscale housing development) and I found a cheap fleetside. These trucks look SUPER clean with a fleetside bed.

She's not in action right now because I am (will) put in a 700R4 transmission and am just kind of taking my time.

Yeah you should have no issues putting the bed on, just get all the cross sills for the fleetside bed.

Don't forget the rear wiring harness is different between the two beds also. Other than that, piece of cake.. I know, I am doing it.

I did it with a longbed that was still complete, including rear wiring harness and tailgate. Just took 3 extra guys to lift the bed, 8 bolts/washers/nuts and about 15 minutes to get it lined up and bolted down.
