Re: how do they do this
The "smart" way to do it is to get drag blocks. Then just build your truck to lay out.
I think it's kinda cool and very stupid all at the same time. |

Re: how do they do this
thats the best way to do it but you could also bolt on peices of steel to your frame and drag those to if you wanted but with the blocks youll get much brighter set of sparks which IMO looks alot better and if you do go this route make sure that the only thing draging is the blocks and not your actual frame or something else important that you dont want to be dragin

The orange sparks are iron, the white sparks are titanuim. Both make for some pretty cool photos.

Re: how do they do this
Looks a little dangerous to me. I know I'd not want a bunch o' sparks flying all over/around my gas tank. Also, if the blocks are dragging, the tires will have limited traction. Looks like a big FUBAR getting ready to happen.
Cool song in the vid though...

Re: how do they do this
I was at Blood Drag 2006 in Florida, a kid's S-10 went up in flames while he was draggin it. It was a standard cab with three people in it, they all got out ok, but the truck was a total loss.

Re: how do they do this
The best way to do it is to drill 2 holes in your frame (usually toward the back of the cab) then run 2 grade 8 bolts thru and weld the inside head of the bolts. Then just make a template, take some angle iron and some like 2 inch solid square iron and weld the solid onto the angle then drill the holes from the template and bolt them up using a lockwasher.
Here is a clip of what can happen if you dont do it right. http://www.dfwkustoms.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5660 FarmTruk was correct, but if you let it down just enough to drag you maintain alot more control.
