I like the fleetsides myself. I think they give the truck a cleaner look.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
You know that every fleet owner will tell you fleet, and every step owner will tell you step.
but it matters what look or style you wanna go for. If you want a clean look, or if you wanna do some shavin and droppin, get the fleet. Stock fleets are kinda ugly IMO. I think steps in general have more character, but thats JMHO. |

I like the step, I wouldn't say that for any other year of truck though! JMO.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
Mine was a stepside and I always thought it looked wierd. I since have sold the stepside bed and got a short fleet but that wasn't in great condition so now I am on the hunt again...

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
Everyone has there own opinion what looks beter. I like the short step beter for looks. I thank the long step is ugly as hell. and I do like short and long fleets but not as well as the short step. IF you are undesided then you need to ask your self..."What am I building this truck fore?"... Self, resale, show, work, ect. show the stepside ads carector, the feet is cleaner. Resale the fleet is more rare and therefore may ad value. Work you want to cary building materials?... a sheet of plywood will lay flat only in the long fleetside.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
Short step on 60-66, hands down. I thing short step look best all the way until 71. By the way, I have a step and a fleet, even though they are 25 years apart

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
The truck is a driver , Its getting z'd and backhaved currently and the diff narrowed
it'll lay rocker but im mainly doing the work for a deadly low ride height. IM gonna set the short fleet bed on it and then deliberta I guesss I still want you opinions tho. My brake booster sure thing 1979 pontiac trans am , or fire bird It bolted in the stock holes . I had to cut and join the trans am pedal rod and the truck pedal rod but it works great I used the prop valve from a 72 Pickup ,I had fluch mounted a 88-98 truck booster but it wouldnt clear the valve covers on my 454 , this worked out pretty slick. needs to be detailed tho...

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
I like fleetsides because of the clean/straight lines. I have a feet long bed. But, it's all a matter of opinion.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
I like the short fleets best. I have a short step and looked for a complete fleet bed for it for a long time..... until I gave up and decided to go with what I have...

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
Fleetsides make the best looking lowriders. it is the one time I would say a fleetside looks beter than a step.
