Tranny Linkage

I am pretty new with this mechanic and hobby thing. I figured Id be better at this since I work on diesel engines for support equipment, but I guess I aient. Anyhow, my question is how hard is it to adjust the transmission linkage and how do you go about doing it? Thanks for the help.

Re: Tranny Linkage

What kind of tranny do you have? If it's an automatic, it's easy. Loosen the nut clamping the arm on under the hood, put shifter lever in Park, with wheels chocked to keep truck from rolling get under it and put the tranny in park. Tighten clamp on shift arm and it should be good to go. For a 3 speed I'll have to defer to the smart guys.
