speedo
well heres the long story short version me and my bro are on the freeway and he has a 05 f250 supercrew and hes doing 80mph and i pass him and he said that he went up to 85mph and i was still pulling away from him yet my speedo never went over 85mph, anybody know what could be making it not keep going??? and what i need to do to fix it???

I would have someone pace me at different speeds in a newer vehicle to check the speedo. I don't think any conclusions can be drawn from the situation you are describing. Just my thoughts.... LockDoc

well it looks pretty easy to take out, and if it matters the trans as been rebuilt, it went out on the trip home when i bought it so ive driven the truck the entire time ive had it on a rebuilt trans, and when i got it the speedo didnt work at all but when i got it back from the trans shop after the rebuild it works, so that would mean the gear in the trans was worn out or broke or something so could the gear in the speedo itself be worn out to??? i dont know what exactly is inside the speedo
