Re: 73 spindals on 69 lwb
I am building 68 and have an 88 suburban with at 350,700R4. I was going to try to use the donor vehicles spindles, power window selonoids, brake booster, and steering box. Can any of you guys help us out. I need to know if any of you have used later model parts from these vehicles, and if there are any other parts that will swap. Thanks.

Re: 73 spindals on 69 lwb
There are quite a few members that have swapped the crossmember from a 73-87 truck to thier 67-70. From what I have read it seems to be a fairly simple swap. I believe you can also use the 'Burb suspension from 88-91. I don't know if the brake booster will work. If it does I'm sure it will require some modification. I'm sure others will chime in with more info.

Re: 73 spindals on 69 lwb
If you don't use the entire crossmember you will need to swap the Lower Control arms from a '73+ truck - you will also need to make sure the upper ball joints are for a '73+ truck or up to '91 Burb and you need all the steering links/tie rods from the '73+
You could use the '69 Control arms with '73+ Ball joints but the steering stops on the lowers are different than your '69 - it is easier to just swap the whole control arm onto the truck than to "modify" the '69 steering stops to work with the later spindles The power steering boxes will bolt in - unless you have a '67 Chassis (you may have to make an indendation for the steering box) Brake Boosters are different - you will need to modify the firewall braket/rod of a '73+ to work properly (probably easier to locate a '67-'72 specific) All of that stuff will bolt onto you're '69 X-Member. Remember there were 1.25" rotors up untill about '77 and then there were 1.00" rotors and the option of 1.25" rotors - try to get the thicker 1.25" "Heavy Duty" rotors Make sure to use a Master Cylinder and Proportioning valve from a '71-'72 and (Front Brake Hoses for a '71-'72 - if using the '67-72 Crossmember with later spindles, if using the entire 73+ crossmember than use the '73+ Brake Hoses - but you may need to modify your front hard lines)
