Which headers do you'll recommend?
Looking to replace my ugly, extreme heat producing headers, with some new ones. Would like ceramic coated type, chrome/silver finish. Which brand, part # will fit in my 1967 C10 V8. Has power stearing if that matters.

i just bought some sanderson CC10s. i actually bought them steel but im taking them a couple towns down the road to have em ceramic coated for the same price sanderson wouldve charged me but theyre gonna make the inside able to handle 2000? and the outside 1300?, where as sanderson does 1300? inside and out. he also said that the polish is a little better lookin than sanderson.
but the CC10s go straight to that open spot we have by the tranny, great clearance. i had to switch to shorty plugs and 90? wire boots but it was worth it cuz i went up to 8.8mm wire some have also used the CC3s on our trucks. i attached a pic of the CC10s though

I just ordered some cheap ones from the Summit Catalog. They were like 80 bucks...Ill let you know how they are when i put em on.

Hooker Comps work great, fit nice. You can find the cataloge on the Holley web site. Summit has them and you can get them coated.

I've not tried any for the 67-72 design, but I can recommend one universal fact about headers: use a ball & socket design for the collectors; everything else leaks, particularly after bouncing it off a speed bump.
The only company that I *KNOW* makes such is Stan's Headers in Washington (www.stans-headers.com). Part number 172Y - nice fit and finish, thick collectors, and it's a 'tri-y' design for better mid-range power. Bad news is the $400 price tag. |

I am extremely happy with the Dynomax 86022 headers that I bought from Ed at Mothertruckers.
They installed nice and easy, fit perfect, do not hang low, and perform as needed. I did not use the included header bolts since I had a set of Stage 8 locking bolts ready to go so they will never leak. Thanks Ed!

I would recommend gettign a set of Sanderson QP 100 Headers!! Look like a Stock Manifold but perform like a header minus the gasket problems of headers!!
I have a set of headers and I would much prefer the Sanderson qp headers over anything else because of reliability !!

Hedman Elite Ceramic Coated. Very heavy gauge steel with real thick flanges. Summit Racing for about $260.00.

While i am not sure about the ceramic coating (although i'm sure you can opt for it) I love my hooker super comps. They fit so well, you don't have to worry about the aformentioned speed bumps. Also you can get to all but one spark plug with a socket, which if you've ever had crap headers, you can really apreaciate that in a header.

I use the summit cheapies. Theyre the same as the dynomax. Different box is all. Same headers. I use them with copper gaskets on the heads and the collectors and grade 8 hardware on the collectors torqued to 55 lbs and I have never had a leak.

I just got a set of dynomax jet hot coated from summit for $220. I haven't installed them yet, but they look nice. They're not in the catalog for our trucks, but if you call them, they have them.

i run custom tri-y's stans headers from auburn washington. pretty damn nice. if you live in washington i recommend them.
