Re: blue houndstooth or not?

1 for houndstooth. You don`t want to go with the CustomDeluxe cloth?I guess that`ll run more money.`Cuz I was going to suggest the Highlander plaid that was a pkg available on CustomDeluxes.Only with parchment vinyl, but would look sweet blue plaid on blue vinyl.

I forgot how good looking a stock truck is. I am going custom like a lot of us , but it is nice to know that there are some owners that are restoring to stock. I VOTE FOR BLUE HOUNDSTOOTH

Re: blue houndstooth or not?

Hounds tooth is about twice as heavy and durable as the Highlander. Much nicer and cheaper!
I liked these custom covers we did in black vinyl w/blue hounds tooth...
Or these custom bucket/rear blazers done in white vinyl w/orange hounds tooth. GM never did the buckets in hounds tooth, but they should have!!!

You can always PM me if you want a quote on your seat covers.

Re: blue houndstooth or not?

I have had a pair of custom Saddle houndstooth on saddle vinyl buckets(C.A.R.S.) I had made for my buckets since`91.I can`t wait to use them when I build the short/stepside K/30.Frank`s right about the plaid on both counts. They`re more like a blanket weight. And,they must be custom stitched or altered from Cheyenne or Super seats.Same for custom cloth as found in CustomDeluxes.Although, that is a durable cloth.Last I checked on the plaid it was $89 per yd.You`d need 2yds.,then custom upholstery cost.$^^$
Oh yeah, those covers are sweet.Couldn`t think of a better looking interior for that Blazer.Unless it was orange vinyl/houndstooth.

Re: blue houndstooth or not?

I just ordered black with red/black houndstooth from GMCPaul, am excited to get it installed. I think a stock seat that looks custom to most lookers is the best choice!

Re: blue houndstooth or not?

special, is that one of your trucks? Black with a blue interior isn't a very common color combo. Is it a full resto?

I don't think it looks bad, I was just curious.

No Chris,I just have an interiors folder for pics.I actually went with full vinyl in my Sierra to stay correct. That is a sharp combo, though.

Re: blue houndstooth or not?

This is the brown. We did these for a CST Buddy set and made the pleats a little smaller than on the 71-2s. They are not installed yet...just displayed loosely.

I love the brown. can you get the vinyl and the houndstooth by the yard so door pannels and sunvisors can be made to match. Im using a det of buckets out of a 68 scout so I may need the front seats custome made.

Just a heads up for you (and anyone else that has forgotten) since I see you are pretty new to the board. This board has a large group of vendors that help this site stay up running by paying fees that allow them to "advertise" in a small way. They get their names in red. Now I'm sure LMC is a fine company, I understand they have a nice catalog. But they are not board vendors ( Well I did not see them in the list, so I hope Im not putting my foot in my mouth ) Anyway, please use or suggest to people to use the people that help keep this fine board up and running. Look at the posts PICKMUP has on this thread. He really knows his stuff about our trucks upholstery. He offers an excellent product at a good price. There are other vendors that offer similar knowledge and prices. He is local for me so I happen to know first hand his service is top notch.

Mark

EDIT: I see you are a site supporter and a new guy...I wish everyone had the forsight you do to see what being a supporter does to help things here. Thanks

My vote is for the houndstooth! It's beautiful! Son is thinking of doing a "themed" K10 and is considering red/black houndstooth. His should be more white/black, but I can't talk any sense in him....he's a teenager...he knows EVERYTHING!

Houndstooth is cooler in summer and warmer in winter. It wears very well--had custom houndstooth sport buckets in my 72 Cheyenne Super for many years.
