Might finally finish the wifes 72 Suburban - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

It looks like after the devastating discovery that the outside of the body tub of the wifes Suburban had to be repainted due to a serious mismatch and waiting 6 weeks for a seriously unreliable glass man to install the windshield we may finally be back on track on our project. Glass man never did install the glass..a friend at work talked me into doing it myself with his help. Glass had to be trimmed due to a-pillar damage,new glass and new rubber issues. Heres a pic of the Suburban in the booth this morning. Painter called a few hours ago to let me know its painted. Hopefully get it home tomorrow and install rear quarter glass. Hope to have an update next weekend!

Got the Suburban home today...the color match is perfect! Body guys are going to color sand and buff later this week. My buddy from work is coming by tomorrow to help install the rear quarter glass. I even got the outside mirrors mounted today. Should be doing final assembly this weekend and possibly have it on the road next week!(and yes the little woman is getting very excited!)

Quarter glass went in today and the painter started the work on the colorsanding. It's great to have the project moving again. Should have some pics of the finished project very soon!!!!!

I was thinking of sending you a PM,Bob,but I didn't want to be a pest! Still not a huge rush,the wheels we are going to use are on my 69 3/4 ton with snow tires on them. Thought I might be done with them but it snowed today and is supposed to snow again tonight.

Paint and body guys came by yesterday and finished the colorsanding. They also came by today a buffed out all of the repainted areas. Looks sweeeeet! Don't have a ton of stuff left to do,so the plan is to attempt to make the big push to finish the old girl this weekend. Heres a teaser pic....hopefully have some pics of the finished product this weekend!
