FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

Here you all go. This is the first time I've actually taken picture of my truck since I've had it (3 or 4 months now)

I had to post the pinstriping pic!

Nice little rig there. I love that bodystyle with all of the moldings on them. Just paint it back stock, lowered and some big wheels and you will be stylin.

Sharp little truck, Like the colored wheels. I agree with the others, A little more gravity would really set it off.

Ah, leave it stock height..... what size tires is it running? Nice looking rig -- mine is a '77 short bed GMC. No lowering for it.... too many rocks up in the hills where I take it.

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

Ok, for everyone who told me to get it closer to the ground, I took this pics this afternoon, and tonight I lowered it 2 inches in the back to level it out. It's already got a 3 inch drop in the front. Much more and I won't be able to turn, with those "offroad" tires I have on it. It's still not nearly low enough for me, seeing as how 90% of my friends drive bagged trucks, and my last truck was bagged.

As for paint, I've stumbled on two ideas. First is to repaint it exactly as it is there, classic chevy orange and white. Something about those colors I just love. Second idea would be to paint it satin black, but keep the moldings, keep the red centers in the rims, then pinstripe the hood and tailgate with red and white. That would give it that "old school" look that I love.

The tire size on it is 30x9". It's definately going to be getting something a little smaller when I go to order new tires, which will be soon, seeing as how these are starting to dry rot.

Thanks for the replies!

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

Haha... I did that on my last truck BEFORE anyone else had it! I've always loved that look.

It'll probably end up back to chevy orange, just because it's cheaper and easier this way (dont have to repaint dash, door jambs, firewall, etc.)

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

Okay first off really nice looking truck you got there! Lowering is not really my style (takes away from drivability around here) but even still i think it looks good. Big wheels are not my style at all. So from my point of view lowering is fine but those big wheels i jst don't like and anything bigger then a 24 looks out right goofy. But that is just me i have hated every minuate of the "big wheel crazy" that seems to be hear to stay. When you lower a truck but keep the rallies or stock rims it really makes the truck look lowered i think.... Anyways that is just me I don't like big wheels i would rather have more rubber to burn. On the paint i think the classic orange and white will be sweet. Satin black is really nice tooo but it is all about "played out" And wjhile i think a 70=80's truck could do it it just does not look as good as say a 30's eara gasser. I think if you paint it orange and white you will really like it.
But that is just me. your truck, do what YOU want and you'll like it and that is really what matters

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

I'm pretty decided on orange, just cuz it keeps everything else easier. No having to paint the firewall, or the dash, or anything else inside. Those all still look brand new.

84 400, I love the big wheels on any chevy newer than 87, but on our trucks, I don't think I could go bigger than 17" and MAYBE 18". It'll most likely end up on some 16" cragars or something if I ever decide to go with different wheels. It's definately getting lowered as much as I can while still being drivable though!

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

Not to offend anyone but don't be a poser and paint it suede or flat black or build a rat rod. Keep it normal. Paint it back stock, new trim, 20's and slam it. there is nothing that beats a stock exterior. That is why GM designers make millions of dollars.

How does satin black with red accents make me a poser? Please, find me one picture of a 73-87 that's done up like this.

Not to mention, there's two in my area that are orange and slammed on at LEAST 20's, with the stock exterior, so IMO, that's being more of a poser than the rat rod look.

In other words, we should all build our trucks like you would build yours?

What makes this hobby so great is the diversity of trucks, if we all built the same style of truck the car/truck show scene would be pretty boring.

While I too like fairly stock exteriors, there is nothing wrong with deviating from the norm and what GM originally introduced to us.

If it were mine...def. put it back in it's born with colors. Silver back on the ralleys and some nice white letter tires. I'm sure it already looks better with the azz outta the air. Wish I had your back pumper!

Re: FINALLY!!! Pics of my truck!

yeah. there is two trucks i can think of off the top of my head that are done in Flat/ satin black on here. They look diffrent and neat IMO. I painted my old rusty beater flat black after repairing rust cause i had no money for a paint job. I think it is a cool look but i also think it is better left to the older vehicals. Don't get me wrong about the wheels N2trux 77 for example looks great in my opinion but i am just not into them. To each his or her own and i think that as long as your truck looks the way you want it that is great.
