K10 with K5 or suburban wheels???

Who all has the factory 6 lug aluminum wheels from a k5 or suburban on their truck? Pics? I am getting my 86 back from the guy I sold it to nearly 2 years ago and I want to make the changes I wanted to before I sold it. I have had over 30 trucks in the last 10 years and this one was my favorite and I am finally getting it back. I will post pics when I get it back.
Thanks, Kade

Yeah I wish you could fit late model wheels on these trucks.

Those are aftermarket like eagle alloys or something.

Re: K10 with K5 or suburban wheels???

I had a set on my 87, sold them for $100. I think they were aftermarket alcoa.
You can put the late model wheels on. You have to ream out the center, a machine shop can usually do it for around $20 per wheel for the aluminum.
I have the new style chrome clad steel, I just burned out an extra 1/4" in the center. You can then modify the oem caps for the front. Mine are on a trailer, so no caps. But for $10 a wheel new take offs, I couldn't pass.
As for opening the center on aluminum, I once bought a set of the kidney beans for my wife's old bronco that had too small centers for the front hubs. I used a trim router with a straight cut bit- carbide- and they came out nice.

I wonder what the 98 down z71 wheels would look like? I wonder how much the offset is different? The only drawback is the 16" tires are usually higher than 15".

Re: K10 with K5 or suburban wheels???

I think the newer wheels will set in closer by an inch. I could be wrong on this.
Weren't those wheels available on k10 in 86-87?
BTW, the new h3 wheels would work.

I have seen a few trucks with them but most all you ever see is ralleys. I think they look good on those trucks. I want to stay with a 15" wheel since the tires are still over half tread and they have been on the truck for the last 4 years

Here is the ones I had. They were definately aftermarket, and looking at them, they don't look like alcoa. The alcoa didn't have that much lip on them I think.
