67 chevy lowrider project RHINO

I had an idea and I was wondering what you guys think. I have a 67 longbed fleetside chevy with a 350/350 combo lowered 4in in the back and 3 in the front with 18in chrome wheels and I was wondering what you guys would think if I painted the whole truck with black bedliner. In a way it would say street rod but also still remind you that it is still a truck plus I think it would look kinda cool. Let me know what you guys think. It is just an idea and I havent decided thats what I want to do but its up in the air right now.
Plus I just like the project name RHINO.

Honestly, that is a bad idea. Please don't do it. We have a toyota in our town that is half bed liner and the other hald has fallen off.

Do you own your own bedliner application unit? If not, it'll cost you $2500 retail I'd guess.

check out some body shop supply stores, they usually have this stuff called gaterguard, it comes with the spray gun, and the stuff all in one.
not sure on the price, but i know its cheaper than a paint job

[edit] found a seller http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT

heres the spray gun: http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT

Re: 67 chevy lowrider project RHINO

I was at a car show and there was a guy there that had his whole Dodge 4X4 done with different colors of bedliner. It would stand up to brush for sure, but the truck was UUUUUUGLY to say the least. Just my thoughts.

Re: 67 chevy lowrider project RHINO

I would only consider it on a real working off-road rockcrawler or mud truck. On a street truck it would be very durable but I doubt it would be very attractive. The other thing to consider is that 40 years down the road when someone runs across it in a barn it wont have the "Patina" that is expected.

Rhino looks like cottage cheese.I wouldn`t put it in a bed, even. You could prolly leave your truck as it is and it`ll look better than spraying bedliner on it.Spray it with hammerite!

Re: 67 chevy lowrider project RHINO

One of my buddy's dad did it on a like an 88 f150 4x4 I expected it to look real bad but I kind of liked it..I don't think I'd do it. It was line-x so it wasn't that chunky.

There's a guy around here that did that to his Jeep Wrangler. I must say, it looks pretty damn good, but I don't think it would look good on anything else. Don't do it!

Re: 67 chevy lowrider project RHINO

You can get the texture reduced to all but non-existent. The manufacturer said it could get it "slick as snot" (ewww!). We're doing a Boston Whaler in it....even the hull. It's your ride...do what you want.
