Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
At first I wanted to clean up the frame under the bed. Did that, then I wanted to start stripping paint.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
As I got further into this project, I found bondo everywhere! This is not what I wanted. I tried to just prime over everything but that didn't work out.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
I admire you for taking on a project like that. Theres nothing on it that aint bent. You're going to have something special that you can be proud of.Take lots of before and after pics. Lots of people buy ready to show stuff, but it means a lot more when your own hands do the work.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
looks fun, I love ripping stuff apart, sanding, grinding, cutting, and welding. just gets hard to put all the stuff back together. I always loose a few nuts and bolts!

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
Yes it has been fun with the tear down, but seems like more and more work as I go on. Trying to decide to clean up the bondo and redo it or go to bare metal.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
Hey, I am using my angle grinder with mutiple different wire wheels. I am finding that certain wheels gouge the metal too much. Then I am taking 100 grit sandpaper to smooth everything out. All in all... 2 fenders, 1 cowl 8 hours of work.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
Looks a lot like what I started with. Progress looks great, and hopefully it will be everything you hoped when you get it back on the road.

Re: My 69 Long Bed Progress Build Pictures
Next step is to strip the doors right down. Then place an order with LMC for all my cab repairs. Then to take out the old gas tank and put a new one out back. After that I will be removing my 292 and 4spd for the rebuild process.
