Used an extra glovebox door, with VDO white-faced Cockpit gauges.

The release button has to be removed and the hole filled. All the holes were drilled using hole saws on a drill press, with the cut out for the steering column being made by cutting a hole, then finishing the cuts on a band saw. The knobs will be replaced with matching billets, these were all we had on hand at the time.

Them there are the standard Old Air and Vintage Air side AC vents. They give better air velocity than the factory AC side vents

Autometer sport comps 2 & 5/8 dia electric and the boost gauge in the center is also 2& 5/8 but mechanical. The tach and speedo are 5 inch dia. It would be more fuctional with the 8k tach and 120 speedo. I would get the new phantom series if I had to do it over.

Homeboy!!!!! I've been wanting to do the same thing!! Do you have more pictures of that?? exp. the back side. I have about 4 doors around here, to make sure when I do it, I have extra material, for when I screw up!! I have tried to seperate the backside from the front of the door, to get the uneven part off, but it turned out poorly. Thanks, Jason

I removed the glove box, and used one solid piece of aluminum all the way across. I will use individual gauges and after I test fit it all I will polish the dash. Should look pretty kick ass.

Can any of you guys give some brief instructions as to how to install the Autometer gauges in the factory dash. And also do the existing wires just hook right up to the new gauges? Thanks

You need a 2-5/8 hole saw for the lower gauges
Quick set epoxy for the speed and Tach (trim them press fit with epoxy) The gauges come with new sensors. I completely rewired…… the only wires I accessed from the instrument gauge harness were……… the dash lights (1 wire) and the blinks (2 wires left and right) and the bright light indicator (1 wire) and the gas gauge (1 wire) I cut and taped off the rest…..ran several new grounds wires and got power for the gauges straight from the fuse box. So….. all new wires were run for the gauges under the hood flowing the gauges instruction manual. I them cut or removed all the old wires from under the hood.
