Question Rocker panel plugs......

I removed the factory plus on the front edges of the rocker planels. Then used a garden hose to clean out all the bits of crap inside and flush the drains clean yesterday. They appear to be very clean and soild inside from front to back.

What is the best method to seal up the rockers inside from front to back to stop any future rust? .

Also does anybody know if you can purchase the factory plugs to cap the hole back shut?

My trucks a '69 C-20...and seafoam green too Sealing them up at this point will just make them rust from the inside out. Water can get in trough the front, bottom, underneath, sill plate screw holes...its just scary! I tried to seal the passenger side rocker on my truck to keep it from becoming like the drivers side (pic). Unknown by me, water was sliding down the door windows, dripping down inside to the bottom of the door, and on through the sill plate screw holes to fill up the rockers! The salty MO winter roads killed 'er off. Generally, if you seal something it needs to be rust free. Killing the rust with acid and hosing in some POR-15 is an option. That stuff works really good, even in marine applications.

Re: Rocker panel plugs......

The Truck Shop in southern California has the plugs.

I would just get it clean and make sure there is no more debri in there to collect moisture and/or block drainage. You could get some undercoating with a tip extension (straw) and try to spray it in there the best you can.

You just wanna make sure that any water that can get in, can get out.
