Arrow Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

I have my shopping list ready, and I need everything from patch panels to Arm Rests to Signal Light Lens... I have a few grand to spend on my list, so who do I go with when placing an order for quality service, price, and parts?? being in Canada I only know of a few that actually advertise here, but I am sure they will all ship here.

1. LMC Truck.
2. YearOne.
3. GMCPauls.
4. Other Significant Dealer.

I've had excellent luck with Classic Parts AKA:Chevy Duty. I've bought from LMC, ECE and gspp. I'll still go to Classic Parts- I've had only good experiences with them!

I use Scotts Super Trucks in Penhold, great prices when u consider added shipping costs from the states, 9 times out of 10 they have it in stock, and everything is high quality

As a fellow Canadian I have dealt with Early Classics, Classic Heartbeat in Washington State , Scotts in Penhold and aguy on EBay, Texas parts You have to watch LMC and some of the others caus etheir shipping rates are nuts. Also if you can get the supplier to ship by mail instead of UPS, Fed Ex et all it would be cheaper as these big courier companys charge rip off broker fees when bringing stuff from the USA. I've bought stuff from Scotts in Penhold and they have been great and are probably an hour or so drive from you. For convienience that may be your best bet if you are spending quite a bit. If are going to spend a 1000 or 2000 dont be afraid to negotiate with Scotts cause they know you can buy stuff from a lot of places. Personally I usually wait til I'm going to North Dakota or Montana and have the USA suppliers ship stuff to the store UPS Store and pick it up there. Using UPS or Fed Ex within the USA is cheap and fast. If you do that give yourself 2 weeks lead time cause sometimes the couriers can't deliver as promised.

I hear ya about the brokerage fees. I bought some pistons from the states, and the brokerage fees+taxes amounted to 50% of the total price! when it was shipped UPS.
I am definately going to check out buddy in Penhold..!

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

Just visited Early Classic in Fresno, Ca today, not bad but I also went to Fat Fender also in Fresno. Prices were cheaper for body parts. Not too sure on the "little" things but he did say that had a lot of stuff in stock. Keep all options open.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

68Mike,

Also check out http://www.vintagechevytrucks.com. Bill is out of Fremont, CA - an Early Classics' dealer. As you can see from his site, he's got a ton of used crap too.

Devin
FYI - He's a vendor on this board too. I don't think he has the time to get online like he used to.

I felt bad for year one no votes yet. I have delt with them in the past just not for truck parts. I haven't started buying for the truck yet but by the time I'm done I will have probably delt with them all. I'm gonna need alot of stuff.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

I've bought through Brother's, and Early Classic, as well as LMC. Always very satisfied with the parts. Brother's has quite a few good sales, and top quality parts. Early Classic has excellent tech support and high quality parts.

In Canada, Bills Trucks is hard to beat. He knows his stuff.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

Most of the parts are manufactured by a handfull of companies, and are distributed to the suppliers we deal with. I go by price and service. Just for the heck of it, pick out a specialty part (ie a Chevy grille bowtie) and look it up in several of the catalogs. LMC, Chevy Duty, Pauls, Year One, etc. and you'll be suprised how much the price varies for the same part.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

I bought a lot from the car and truck shop (mostly because they had almost everything I needed at a swap meet and they're prices were the lowest) but I have also bought from GMC Pauls, Christains Classics, Brothers, and Classic Heartbeat. All good vendors. Although some of the chrome pieces I bought from the car and truck shop weren't as great as I thought they were once I got them home.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

There`s too many options to list them all.You slighted a few good vendors from right here on the site.
I don`t see enough difference in price for it to have an effect on who I buy from.

Re: Poll Time! Who gives the Best deal and Has Best Parts!?

I agree with Special-K. One problem from everybody, though, is that repro parts just never seem to fit as well. I wonder if that has more to due with quality control on the parts when the trucks were built, rather than sloppiness on the new ones. If an original part varies in size its impossible to make a repro fit.
