Water Pump question
I got a 67 C10 with a 283. I want to put a 350 in there. When did they start using the long style water pump, i heard that it may not fit and i could use the short style pump off the original 283 and it should fit good with regards to the radiator and fan shroud, would the short style water pump be able to cool the 350 or can i just go with the long style pump, does it fit in a 67?

Re: Water Pump question
Your short pump will work with the 350 swap. I would use it that way all your brackets and parts will bolt up nicely, and look stock for your truck. I have never heard of a short pump cooling less than a long for that matter. Good luck with your truck and swap. RJ22

Re: Water Pump question
The long pump fits fine. But why switch if you already have all the accessory brackets for a short pump. '73 for the truck line to utilize the long pumps.

Re: Water Pump question
Well the only other mount i have is the alternator, it has manual steering, i'm adding power steering myself after the 350 is in there, would that matter if i had the short pump on there?

Re: Water Pump question
I would still go short IMO and stay true to the truck. You could go either way easily though.
