A blessing in disguise

About 9 months ago I was in an accident and my truck got all messed up. I was pretty pissed especially having to battle the insurance company for a good settlement. Well finally we settled and got almost 3000 for it. Now i'm getting a new 350 engine and getting the stock 283 out of here, with performance heads a 750 cfm edelbrock carb and down the line a performance camshaft and a new 700R4 Tranny with overdrive replacing the stock powerglide, i'm fixing her up with power brakes/steering, redoing the front end, complete electrical of the truck, new gauges, seat re-upholstered, etc. I got the bed off and i'm re-doing all the wood. This is gonna be one sweet truck when i get done with her. I used to love classic cars/trucks before but now that i got a major project on my hands, i'm considering a career with this

After the work ive done:

it was hit right in the front . the bumper was destroyed, the right fender caved in and grille assembly caved in as well. I had to saw through the grille guard to get it off, same with the bumper. I need to get the chassis straighened though

Don't give up on it. My truck was basically in the same situation with the previous owner. Here it is today. Good luck!

Take your time and do the best work you possibly can within your budget- you will be very pleased later. Hope to see more pics as you go along. Sometimes the progress pics are what keep us going, and going, and going...
