Finally found my paint color but....

I've been waiting and searching to finally come across the paint i want for my 69... I know i want green but a different green than i have is what is in my mind. I THINK i found it but dont know how to obtain it...

On this months cover of Classic Trucks there is a '38 Ferd truck, i love those by the way, named Limelight, its green with wide white walls, and as I read the story of it inside it says the paint is custom. How would you go about finding this custom green? Contact the body shop? Contact the magazine, does anyone know this truck?

Re: Finally found my paint color but....

you can try contacting the magazine or look for the part of the article that says who did what and try contacting them oreven contacting the owner if possible or you might be able to take the mag to a paint shop and they can probly get something close to the color

Ted -
When I was getting a color for mine I went to probably 5 paint stores and flipped through countless paint chip books. I couldn't tell you how many colors I looked at. You can take the magazine with you, match it as close as you can that way, and go from there if you want.

I would take that mag to the paint shop. Sometimes a color you like in print isn't what it looks like in person.

I would agree. Take the magazine and look at paint chips. In person it may not be the same color that you are seeing on cover.

Re: Finally found my paint color but....

I usually tell guys to stop by any new car lot with a big selection and find a color on any factory car out there and then you can track it down in any paint book. It's cool and easy as long as they don't want some kind of pearl or wild HOK kind of paint. ...........Jerry
