Newbie with a question about rear leaf springs
so im in the process of stripping down an 82 swb 2wd truck that im building up in honor of my late dad and have some questions. i purchased the truck used and now i get to explore all the fun things other owners do to their trucks. when i took the rear end out the rear leaf springs only had two leafs. is that stock or did they take some out to help lower the truck?

I would say that they did that to lower the truck / soften the ride. How did the truck ride?

Now, my trucks were/are long wheel base (8' box) trucks, but I don't think that matters. I still think 2 leafs is a custom job... And good on you for honouring your father. My first truck, a '77 "heavy-half" was once my Dad's as well. When he passed, I took it and eventually swapped a bunch of parts (i.e. leaf springs) onto my '86. Oh yeah WELCOME to our addiction.
