3 speed on column hang up issues
I know there have been posts on this before but I couldn't find them on a search. When the linkage gets stuck, there's away to resolve the issue for quite awhile by removing a nut and bolt in the linkage under the hood, placing a drill bit between the two holes to line them up, then tighten everything back together.
I could probably wing it with this knowledge, but I don't get much time before dark and I want to get it right. Thanks for any help! Curbie

Re: 3 speed on column hang up issues
Did you do it with the column in the truck?
I need to tackle this job as well, hopefully in the next week.

Re: 3 speed on column hang up issues
Yes I did. I even found a set of bushings, Jim Carter has them if anyone is interested. I still have issues, tho. Worked on it yesterday, put in the new bushings, but still only have first and reverse gears. I gave up when it started to rain hard.I'll try again one afternoon this week.

Re: 3 speed on column hang up issues
I tackled mine this weekend. Ended up changing the column as the previous owner had broken the shifter and then damaged the top part of the column. My replacement column is in and seems to shift but I haven't tried backing it out of the garage yet.
I'm now trying to figure out the horn. The PO had an aftermarket steering wheel poorly attached. I now have an original wheel attached, but I seem to be missing a piece for the horn. Yeah and the horn is missing too!
