tires slash wheel question

i just orderd a set of tires for my 87 truck .. they are 35/12.50/R15 .. and i have the stock 8" ralley wheels ... and it has come to my etention by a friend that i cant put that wide of tires on an 8" wheel ... they told me i need to have a 10" wheel .. is this true ... thanks nick

dont know mine are 215/75/r15s if this help any. They are on after macket wheels but same dementions.

and a 79 c60 trash truck um no idea i have one

Yes you can I have an 86 Silverado with 8in rallys with 31/12.50/15 on mine

I have 32x11.5x15 fronts and 33x12.5x15 rears, all mounted on 8" wide American Racing wheels - my tires are fine as long as I slow down before taking a sharp corner, you having much bigger tires with the same width should be alright too. But yes, yer friend is right, ideally you want to have these tires mounted on 10" wide wheels.
