Trucks with roof lights???

Where does the wiring originally go on trucks equipped with cab roof lights??
Like where is it connected to?

Thanks, Luis.

Re: Trucks with roof lights???

If I remember correctly it plugs into the inside dome light wiring. Ask Longhornman.

Re: Trucks with roof lights???

it goes from the cablights to the rear left of the cab, runs down the panel and goes along the gas tank sending unit wiring. it the goes by the rocker panel, then up the kick panel to the headlight switch

I understand your question to refer to roof marker lights, not the inside cab dome light. If my interpretation is correct, the wiring runs thru the LH front windshield pillar, and attaches to a terminal connector on the headlight switch.

If my interpretation is wrong, you already got your answer above.

maybe there not original to my truck, but my cab clearance lights run toward the back of the truck, where the gas tank sending unit wiring is at

Re: Trucks with roof lights???

I don't even see how that is possible. There is a pinchweld that seperates theroof panel from the back wall panel, I've tried running wires through there and I never found a place to pass them through.
As original, it is just as CPNE said.

I cut up a 71 C30 last summer and the cab marker light harness ran down the front drivers post & under the dash.

Jeff, there's only a hand full of ppl who know what DSOM stands for!!!
DSOM was the Dope Smokin Old Man who used to own, and bastardized my old 69 SWB GMC.

Re: Trucks with roof lights???

the wiring should run, for your cab lights, straight down from them and across the top, by your windshield, and come down the driver's A-pillar to your headlight switch.

If you had a cargo light, those wires run down the back and across the driver's side B-pillar, straight down to the floor, and across with your fuel wiring, to your swtich. These wires are really fun to run, too. Not really, I had to improvise with some electrical tape and metal wire, and it took me some time to run them. Maybe there's an easier way?

Re: Trucks with roof lights???

those are the later 1971 - 1991 style.
On an unrelated note, I've only seen a few 69/70 trucks painted like that with the white on the bottom instead of in the middle. I think they were also CST trucks too like yours.
