Look who we hung out with on Saturday.

Myself and another board member twotons got the pleasure to hang out with great new friend, Chip Foose. He was in town for the Spokane Auto Boat & Speed Show this weekend. He was scheduled to sign autographs from 1 to 4pm. He signed his last autograph at 10:30 pm. He took a small break as he had to be on the phone with the Barrett Jackson Auction in Florida. He took some time after the show to look at the vehicles and take a few pics for the ones of us that were left after closing at 10pm.

He sat in and looked all around my truck and we talked for a while about the supercharged engine and how fun it is to drive. We then went to Extreme Customs here in town where about 25 of us were hanging out and talking more with Foose. He is a very genuine and caring person. It was a great pleasure to visit and get to know him. We all stayed there until about 3 am. he then drew a picture and signed the wall for them at Extreme Customs.

Here is a few pics of the truck as well with the new engine and new Boyd Coddinton Smoothie 2 wheels. I won the Outstanding award for the semi custom class and the outstanding award for the best truck engine as well.

Foose with me and my truck. I had him sign my visor.

Re: Look who we hung out with on Saturday.

That is very cool! Nice job on the award, you have build one very nice truck. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Chip's entire crew for a week at Sema last year and spoke with Chip a few times and he is a very down to earth guy. I was lucky enough to get his original hand drawn redition of the Sema car that he then traced his final redition off of.
My in-laws had it framed for my Birthday!
First pic is the original that I have, 2nd is the finished copy made off mine and 3rd is some random guy I ran into

One day I will meet Chip Foose! One day I will meet Chip Foose! One day I will meet Chip Foose! One day I will meet Chip Foose!

Hey - you say it enough, and it will happen maybe? I have always heard how incredible of a guy he is. I'd just like to hang out with him and have him beat on my ride for a while. You know, give him free reign to Fooserize it.

Re: Look who we hung out with on Saturday.

Brian...your truck is absolutely gorgeous.

I met Chip Foose one day at his shop in Huntington Beach CA. I can tell that his father did a great job bringing up a correct acting little boy. Chip is all gentleman. He was so nice. We talked with him (me and my business partner) for about 40 minutes alone. He was heading over to one of the Overhaulin projects and was actually there all evening. He truly is a great designer and knows how to really treat his fans.

Cannot really say enough good about him.

That's cool you got to hang out with him. I've never heard of one bad thing about Chip. As far as I'm concerned he deserves all the fame and popularity he has.

foose is the best, he'd wipe the floor with coddington. Foose does more for the hobby. Just my opinion.

Re: Look who we hung out with on Saturday.

Boyd Coddington is a very good designer...nothing anyone will say can change that.

Chip Foose is a very good designer...nothing anyone will say can change that.

Would I rather hang with Foose...sure he is simply a nicer fellow in my humble opinion. Why are Boyd and Chip not seemingly talking? Chip was the President of one of Coddington's companies. Chip decided to do things his own way. It seems as Boyd may not like that and feels betrayed.

I had a boss like that once...anyone who left he wanted them to fail. More of a control thing than anything else.

I hope the both of them keep their TV shows fresh and exciting...I love to watch them.

Re: Look who we hung out with on Saturday.

After seeing all the drama and crap that goes on in the Coddington shop, I would NEVER, EVER buy one of his vehicles, at least a more recent one anyway. Chip Foose and his crew can do a more professional job on Overhaulin in a week than Coddington could do in a month. Coddington is a great designer but the people running his shop are less than great. They may have skill but the work environment and ethic there is terrible. Coddington is responsible for that though because he lets it happen and doesn't work to improve it.

On Overhaulin, there are 2 people out of Coddington's shop that are working for Chip now....that should tell you something.

Actually at least three. Mike (machinist) Charlie (painter) and most recently Scott (sheet metal fab man) Ive seen these people work on overhaulin anyways. Im assuming they have some affiliation with foose.

I watch overhaulin and american hot rod waaaay too much. its sad that i have noticed that lol
