Guy from my local board wrecked his 54

He posted at my local discussion board that he topped a hill and a toyota p/u was stopped in the middle of the road. He clipped it as he swerved for the ditch... Makes me sick to see this. All parties are OK and he does have full coverage. He says he'll have it in the shop next week... Just thought I'd share. Remember, BE CAREFUL!!!

Re: Guy from my local board wrecked his 54

Here's what he said:

"Well I was drive into austin on the way to the roundup and there was a red toyota braking and I looked over my shoulder to see if anyone was in the other lane and I looked back and she was stopped. So I slammed on my brakes and yanked the wheel and I clipped her by a foot. Then I continued into the ditch. Hopefully I will have it in the shop by the end of this week."

"Everyones ok but if you look close the mirror post is broken of and I had my arm on the window frame (for some reason I didnt pull it in) and I got a few scratches, also the dent in my door is like a foot from there, im glad she had a toyota and not something taller like a chevy or ford... I didnt exactly kill her truck, although the taillight was gone, tailgate dented a bit, passanger side bed panel was crunched and the bump was all up in that s***. Other than that I think I got the worse end of it. And yes I almost vomited.

Re: Guy from my local board wrecked his 54

Thanks alot, now I'm going to have nightmares! On a serious note though, glad all parties are safe and metal can be mended. They make chrome replacement grilles now for the '54/55 1st series too. I already found one worthy of chrome plating before they came out Keep us posted on the repairs. I'm fond of this particular year. Daniel U
