Blowin 454 motor direction????

Trying to fit blowin 454 into 72 blazer frame. Should I move motor/tranny mounts forward or back? Or do I leave tranny in stock position and move motor mounts forward? Not sure which way to go without the body being on as a reference point. I know some of you guys out there have been here before. I need a little advice in a bad way!!! Pics coming soon.

Is it 4wd or 2wd? What transmission are you mating up to it?

Re: Blowin 454 motor direction????

Well man, Here's my two cents!!!

I'm in the process right now with my 72 Jimmy. I left the tranny and cross member in stock positions. I did have to cut the firewall to allow for valve covers. I used a Milodon oil pan, which is more shallow than stock. Brake booster cleared by about 1/2 inch. Used Hedman Block Hugger headers, those cleared frame quite easily, however I did have to grind on the cross-member a little. I'll see if I can download the pics, I'll post them if it works.
Good Luck!!
