292 to 360 swap.....

Ok,so my 71 4x4 was originally a 292 and now its getting a 360(Bored out 350).So,my question is.....is the crossmember mounted in the same spot as for a 292 or is the 292 mounting location different than one for a 350?I know the 6 cylinders used a different crossmember than one for a V8 but I dont know if the crossmember mounts in the same spot...I already changed to a V8 crossmember so I dont need to worry about that problem.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 292 to 360 swap.....

292s are different from 250s and 230s in that they use a motor mount in the 2nd 2 holes on the drivers side and the first 2 holes on the passenger side. The smaller L6s used symmetrical mounts. The 350 on my '71 GMC is mounted on the back holes. 292s in 4x4s used a 292-only engine mount X-member. I got one from a board member a few years ago for a '72 K/5 project I have on a backburner and the 292 X-member runs diagonally. ['72 K/5 292/SM465/R-T221 -- changing a V8 automatic to L6 manual]. V8s and L6s also used different Z-bars, but if yours is automatic that's irrelevant.
OBTW whatcha ya gonna do with that obsolete 292?
